Online therapy offers you access to therapy in the comfort of your office, home, or wherever you feel most comfortable meeting. You will receive a confidential HIPAA compliant link to your phone and/or email prior to the start of your scheduled session where we will meet via video conference. All that is needed is a computer or mobile device, high-speed internet, and headphones for added privacy. This offers a convenient way to meet without having to commute!
Note: For online therapy, clients must be a resident of Virginia or Tennessee.

I accept major credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA payments via the client portal or Thrizer. Clients must provide a preferred payment method upon intake, which will be used for all services unless changed by the client. Payments are processed on the service date.

Yes, I accept some insurance plans. Due to insurance company rates, I am only able to provide a limited amount of availability. I also am Certified Out-Of-Network with Tricare.

Your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits, which means that they will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. After meeting your deductible, you will only have to pay the difference (Session Fee Minus Reimbursement Rate) upfront for our sessions, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This typically allows clients to save on average 40-70% upfront on our sessions. I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your insurance will cover.
I can also provide you with a Superbill that contains all required information to submit to insurance for reimbursement if you prefer to submit it directly.

I dedicate a percentage of my caseload to sliding scale therapy sessions. My fees range from $135 to $170 per session.
To apply for sliding scale therapy, please indicate your interest on the contact form or in our consultation call. You will be added to a waitlist and contacted if a spot opens up. I revisit the waitlist every few weeks and/or when a sliding scale spot becomes available.

I primarily work with adults, but I work with kids & teens on a case-by-case basis. I may be a good fit if a kid or teen is in need of EMDR or Brainspotting sessions in conjunction with their primary counseling sessions. I also may be a good fit to work with teens (age 15 & up) who are experiencing mild-to-moderate depression, anxiety, disordered eating, life transitions, etc.

During our 55 minute intake appointment, I will provide education on my approach to therapy. We will review the intake paperwork and I will answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. We will also use the session to gather information about current symptoms, your history, and set goals for our work together. If we have time, we will practice an emotional regulation or mindfulness tool. By the end of the first session, we will have a more clear idea and understanding of what you want to work on and how we will proceed.

Length of therapy varies from person to person. After our intake appointment, we will identify what goals you want to work towards and that will guide the therapeutic process. Most clients I work with benefit from working together a minimum of 6 months, and some clients prefer to continue to work together on a long term basis. For established clients, I am open to scheduling maintenance or “booster” sessions per the client’s desire or needs.

You can click “Book Now” in the site header to schedule your first session. However, it is beneficial to complete a consultation call first to make sure we feel that working together will be a good fit.
Once your first session is booked, you will receive a unique link to my HIPAA compliant portal via Simple Practice to confirm your intake appointment and to complete required intake paperwork. If you’d like to use your in-network insurance benefits, you will receive this information and complete your paperwork through Headway.

I adhere to a 24-hr cancellation policy.
I have a strict policy regarding missed or late-cancelled appointments. When an appointment is missed or not canceled at least 24 hours in advance, the full session fee will be charged to the credit card on file.
